Grinding metal is not a new form of art, it has been around since the 60's where benches and table tops were ground to create interesting, reflective surfaces.
There are many artists who choose metal as the substrate to paint on.
With a lot of trial and error, I have developed a method to reflect the fluid nature of the ocean which is often a subject I choose to paint.
The metal lends itself to outdoor installations with protective coatings and the possibilities are endless in new experiments with this medium.
Using resin is another finish I use to protect and seal the ground aluminium, however a combination of epoxy resin, dyes, tints and other medium allow the reflective quality of the ground aluminium shine below the many layered surface of abstract resin.
